R.I.C.E.

I've never been good at accepting injury and taking the time to let them heal. I've been good about training recovery so I'm fresh for my next training session, usually following the R.I.C.E. formula = Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation.

Since injuring my ankle in last weekend's race I've kept on the training gas until this past weekend. My ankle had continued to be sore with a little dull pain but would loosen up and feel pretty good after some time on the bike, until Saturday. I woke up Saturday morning with my ankle feeling really sore and looking particularly black and blue...Time to the the "R." serious and get this thing healed up so it does not continue to nag me.

I pulled the plug on all weekend training and racing plans and really stayed off my feet. I'll continue that for one more day and then I'll ease back into training on Tuesday with some swimming and maybe a little time on the bike. We'll see how that goes for a few days and hopefully get an easy run in before the weekend
Injuries SUCK!!!
